Snow Tha Product Portland Concert reviews
Great Nickelback show...
I made a point to listen to some of Sick Puppies stuff before the concert since I was not familiar with them. They were the first band, and overall the sound was good. However, their set was too short at barely 30 minutes. Considering the small stage they had to work with and that they were the opening band, they put on a decent enough show.
Snow Tha Product show was my first, coming just before 9:00 pm. I was wondering how they would sound after Breaking Benjamin's distorted set. Thankfully, they did not fall into the same trap. The vocals were clear throughout the nearly 2 hour set, and the show was great. There were lots of pyrotechnics and video on multiple large screens. The drum solo about 2/3 of the way through the show was amazing, giving me flashbacks to seeing Neil Peart with Rush in the 80's.
Breaking Benjamin was up next, and it was a letdown. The sound was so distorted that you could barely tell someone was singing. I am familiar with some of their stuff from the radio, but the acoustics at the Greensboro Coliseum can be difficult to work with. However, I think the problem with Breaking Benjamin's set was that they fell into the "This is Spinal Tap" mindset of thinking that if 10 on the volume is good, then 11 is even better. They played for about an hour, which made the bad idea worse.
